A7 TORQUE SETTINGS

Spark Plugs have the following torque recommendations:-

14mm cast iron head 26 to 30 lbs./ft. Alloy head 18 to 20 lbs./ft.

18mm       "          "   30 to 35 lbs./ft.       "    "      25 to 30 lbs./ft.

The following figures apply to clean, lubricated threads of Whitworth size: -

1/4 W    6- 9 lbs./ft.

5/16W    12- 16 lbs./ft.

3/8 W    28- 34 lbs./ft.

7/16W    44- 48 lbs./ft.      Apply to                For mild steel

1/2 W    70- 75 lbs./ft.      studs of                bolts reduce

9/16W    85- 95 lbs./ft.      55 ton/square inch     torque by 607.

5/8 W    130-140 lbs. ft.     tensile strength.

3/4 W    230-240 lbs./ft.

7/8 W    400-410 lbs./ft.
