25,000 miles in an A7 to bring extra to special kids Hi, we’re Eunice Kratky (EK) and Guy Butcher (GB) Our crazy plan is to drive a 1930’s Austin Seven from New York to Alaska before turning south to Tierra del Fuego. The total distance is expected to be about 25,000 miles or 40,000 kilometres. We’re setting off in 2012, which is also the 90th Anniversary of the first Austin 7.Through this adventure we wish to raise funds to help children & young people with special or additional needs and their families. MOLENTOCHT 2012 Thursday 24th May and return on Monday 28th May After the success of the 2011 Molentocht when 21 U.K cars travelled to Holland to take part in the 23rd Molentocht in Goes, Zeeland south -west Holland, we have decided to return in 2012. This event is a major event in the European classic car calendar and attracts entrants from across the continent. The 2012 event will take place on the 27th of May and the Dutch are keen to see the British return to Goes. As in previous years the organising committee have put together a weekend of activities starting with a reception to be held on Friday evening in the Lunch Café in the Town Hall. Transport to and from this and Saturday night’s event will be provided. Saturday looks set to be a busy day with visits to various local attractions with the evening being spent at a popular restaurant. Sunday sees the highlight of the weekend—the Molentocht, which is a run of around 90Km along country lanes and dike roads with various stops at places of interest followed by a farewell dinner at the Hotel Goes. We intend to travel to Goes on Thursday 24th May and return on Monday 28th May travelling either by North Sea Ferries from Hull to Zeebrugge or Harwich to Hoek van Holland, whilst those in the South can travel from Dover to Dunkerque. Simply Classics at Beaulieu Sunday 26th August 2012. 'Simply Classics' will run at the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu on Sunday 26th August, from 9.00am. The event will assemble the widest range of Classic and Vintage cars possible. Any vehicle is welcome to attend as long as it was produced in 1986 or earlier. We will be running a 'Best in Show' competition with a prize trophy to the vehicle deemed to stand out from the crowd. New this year shall be a Concours trophy awarded to the most pristine vehicle. Entrance to the Concours is via an application on our website. The price of entry is £10 per adult and £5 per child (when arriving in a classic car) - half the normal admission price. The event includes entry into the National Motor Museum, Palace House, Beaulieu Abbey, World of Top Gear and the acclaimed new Bond In Motion exhibit. There will also be live 1920's and 30's music, trade stands and other entertainments, not to mention a few surprises! (Picnics are most welcome). This year we shall also have the added drama of some very imposing aero-engined specials, being demonstrated about the museum complex.
